UMT means Universal Measurement Tool. UMT products are used to measure both work productivity and facilitates the audit process.
UMT software works on both PalmOS handhelds and Windows Mobile
handhelds. The handheld model that you select will depend on the needs
that you have. You should ask yourself; Do you need to be able to take
photos? Do you need a longer lasting battery? Are you on a tight
budget? We recommend that you look at our System Requirements below then shop around for a handheld that meets your needs.
System requirements for both UMT Plus and UMT Audit are as follows:

The UmtManager and UmtAudit Manager
programs make it easy to program your studies. Depending on the length
of your study it could take anywhere from an hour to program to a few
days to program. Your Laubrass account executive is always available to
help you program your studies, and will start you off with your own
study when you are trying out the software.
Yes. Under the options menu in UMT Manager you can go to the submenu Study Mode. In this dialog box you will find an area to set both your confidence interval and relative error. While doing your study on your PDA you can have real time status updates on how you are meeting the statistical parameters that you have set.
Yes. There are several different forms of training. With your trial you will be given a link to a free 30 minute clip that introduces you to the software, also you will always have access to technical support free of charge. We also offer customized training for you and your organization for half day, full day or two days. These training sessions are available both online or at the destination of your choice. You can talk to your account executive about which training would be best suit your needs.
Once you complete your study on your PDA you transfer the data back to your computer and have instant access to a variety statistics available in lists, charts and graphs in the StatUMT or StatAuditprograms. Also you can automatically populate your existing MS Excel sheets with the new customized excel feature. Or you export all data to MS Excel or MS Access. We also offer the ability to explore the possibility of synchronizing the software to work with customized databases and information systems.
The UMT Xtender program comes with all UMT Products free of charge. This is a software program that allows you to use your PDA on your PC. To use the software you connect your PC and PDA and click on the UMT Xtender icon. A simulator will appear on your computer screen and you will be able to control your PDA from your PC. This is useful if you have access to a PC while doing your study and want to be able to type from your keyboard.
Both UMT Products come with three seperate modules that work interchangeably together. There is one module to create, edit and manage the study, a second module that goes on your PDA to assist you to easily collect data and a third module that gives you instant access to your data. You also receive a bonus software program UMT Xtender that allows you to operate your PDA from your PC. All modules are sold together as one master license per location and you can purchase additional PDA licenses seperately.
